With the compact diameter of these 1’ sight bodies a large heat sink is not compatible, The heat sink I did install is adequate for a duty cycle of 10-25 seconds on with 15 second cool off.. It is the laser beam itself that is the main source of heat within the laser engine.
I have not yet burned a diode to failure from 1-3 minutes of on time for my test units..
HOWEVER REVERSED POLARITY WILL KILL IT IN 2 SECONDS OR LESS (OOPS DID I DO THAT?) Yeah I did burn up a few engines during testing RATS!!! 100% Polarity protection would require a 5amp diode (It won’t fit)
Run Time: 1.5 + hours continuous (continuously running this laser sight is definitely not recommended.). Runtime is estimated by using a power consumption/capacity algorithm
